Contest Rules and Regulations

All Preston Street BIA contests and promotions are administered by the Preston Street Business Improvement Area (the “BIA”) for the purpose of promoting BIA member businesses in Ottawa’s Little Italy.

Contests are open to individuals who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, directors, and immediate family members of the BIA are not eligible to win. No purchase is necessary to enter. Unless otherwise stated, only one (1) entry per person is permitted.

To enter, participants must follow the entry instructions as communicated by the BIA for each contest. Entries that do not follow the stated instructions, are incomplete, duplicated, or submitted using automated means will be considered invalid. Contest periods, including opening and closing dates, will be communicated by the BIA and may be modified at the BIA’s discretion. The BIA reserves the right to limit the number of entries or discontinue a contest at any time if circumstances require.

Prizes will be awarded as described at the time of the contest. Where a prize is a Preston Street BIA gift card, the winner will select a participating Preston Street BIA member business, and the BIA will purchase a gift card in the advertised amount for use at that business. Prizes have no cash value and may not be exchanged, sold, or transferred. The BIA reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize becomes unavailable.

Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries and contacted using the information provided at the time of entry. Winners must respond and claim their prize within thirty (30) days of first contact, or an alternate winner may be selected. By entering the contest, participants agree that the BIA may verify eligibility and compliance with these rules. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their first name and/or social media handle for promotional purposes related to the contest, without additional compensation.

The BIA, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in a contest or from the acceptance or use of a prize. By participating, entrants release the BIA from any such liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.

The BIA reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend any contest, or these rules, at its sole discretion if the integrity or operation of the contest is compromised. All decisions made by the BIA in connection with any contest are final.
