Retro Gusto, a standout destination on Preston Street, is celebrating its third anniversary this year. Founded by Cesare and Nina Agostini, the restaurant has quickly become a cornerstone of the local dining scene, drawing both locals and visitors. Retro Gusto is the duo’s second venture, building on the success of Farinella, their popular pizzeria and gelateria that now has three locations. Alongside their team, they have built a vibrant, welcoming space at Retro Gusto where great food, inventive cocktails, and a love of community come together.
Since opening in 2022, the restaurant has been known for its 1970s vintage-inspired interior, Roman-style pizza, and creative drinks. The founders’ vision was to create more than just a restaurant. They wanted a spot where friends can gather, celebrate, and experience the energy of Ottawa’s Little Italy. Their dedication to quality, authenticity, and hospitality has made Retro Gusto a go-to destination for after-work bites, late-night snacks, and signature cocktails.
With a new sign to mark this milestone, the restaurant continues to reflect the passion and entrepreneurial spirit of Nina and Cesare. Located on the corner of Preston and Somerset, Retro Gusto is more than a place to eat. It is a community hub, a showcase of Italian culinary traditions, and a shining example of how creativity and dedication can transform a local business into something that resonates with so many.
