Majolica Flourish

From the Piazza del Popolo & Faenza in Ravena 

Majolica ceramics are famous for ornate patterning. The designs and shapes seen on majolica are also seen on architecture, statuary, furniture, textiles, and jewelry all over Italy. The cast metal flourish topping this sculpture and the circular bulges of the top and bottom granite pieces are inspired by typical forms of the ceramic vessels.
